The different offers of Samos Travel Services;
An island of great interest like Samos, with such a lovely landscape and regard to its archaeology and history, should definitely demand a round trip! Through our Full Day Tour, you can gain a good general impression of the whole island right at the beginning of your holiday, whether it concerns archeological sites, mountains, beaches, villages or other places of interest.
We start with “Ancient Greece”, represented by the Temple of Hera. Then, we head north to the marvelous monastery of Megali Panagia (15th cent.). We will then make a stop to the truly traditional mountain village of Pyrgos, after visiting Pyrgos, there is an optional stop in the area of Koutsi – an ideal place to take panoramic photos, before continuing to our visit at a traditional wine factory, where we will get the chance to taste some of the famous Samian wines.
In Karlovassi you will admire the several neoclassical houses and mansions, witnessing the great wealth of the town during the recent past. Continuing along the wild romantic north coast you will reach the enchanting Valley of Nightingales. After this short walk and a welcome coffee stop, our last station will be at the charming and picturesque fishermen’s village of Kokkari, before our Island Tour reaches its destination at Samos Town and Pythagorion.
This full day excursion gives you the opportunity to make ‘a holiday within a holiday’. Only 1 1/2 hours’ time separates you from a totally different world: Turkey ‑ the bridge between Europe and Asia.
You can travel to the land of mosques and minarets, immerse yourselves in the colourful fragrant world of bazaars, enjoy the native specialities or visit the ‘witnesses’ of Pre‑Christian past, e.g. the famous archaeological site of Ephesus, the most significant monument of antiquity and the largest Greek Roman excavations in the Mediterranean Area (excellent guiding).
Before returning to Samos you still have time at leisure in the small harbour town of Kusadasi, which ‑ in spite of its increasing tourism has still preserved its oriental character with coffee‑houses, small bazaars and Turkish baths ‘Hamams’. A truly unforgettable day!
Named as the “Jerusalem of the Aegean Sea” this is an island of aesthetic austerity. This tranquil destination ‑ formerly a refuge for Christian monks ‑ seems to consist only of jagged rocks, lave stone and beautiful, crescent moon bays.
Patmos ‑ a significant connection with the Byzantine Period and whose Christianity has still strongly preserved the Byzantine presence by the monastery and churches. Here, in a cave, St. John wrote the masterpiece of “Apocalypse” ‑ one of the most magnificent texts of world literature.
The harbor town of Skala is dominated by the mighty monastery of the ‘Theologian’, built in the 11th cent., with its priceless religious relics, rare manuscripts, icons, jewelry, embroidery and its wealthy library constituted it as one of the richest monasteries within Christianity. The narrow lanes with the typical white painted houses, the innumerable taverns and the medieval town of Hora with splendid architectural patterns, the people’s lifestyle and hospitality ‑ all this creates for you an unforgettable stay on Patmos.
The Greek Islands are a magical place to spend your holiday and an island like Samos is really worth to visit and explore! Samos Island is full of beautiful hidden treasures along its coastline.Although most parts of the island are easily accessible by car, the big majority of its hidden beaches untouched by tourism can only be reached by sailing yacht and boats.
If you have little or no previous sailing experience, you will need a skipper, captain or other crew members. You may just want to reserve a cabin or single berth and sail with other guests. You can participate in the sailing of the yacht, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the experience.
Our Picnic Tour in the true pirate style will enrapture the most fun loving of you! Try out a Greek ‘kaiki’ type boat and discover the natural beauty of enchanting beaches. Captain and his crew will bring you, after a short cruise along the southeast coast to the lovely sandy beach of Megali Laka or Samiopoula Island!
There, they will personally prepare and serve you with a delicious lunch ‘barbecue style’ (incl.). You can spend the rest of this relaxing day, snorkling or enjoying the sun and crystal‑clear waters!
